my goddamn cam phone has crapped out, so i can't show you what i've done/made/created/invented.

i sure need to get some shit together, avatar-wise.

life is crazy, and on the positive side of the scale, all things considered. quality of life took a nosedive when i started working 60hr weeks in heavy industry, but i've been walking home with scrap i-beams and shit like that, brushing up on my plasma skills.

and friends from back home, jacktown, start arriving soon, the cursed, chosen few, so soon, either everything will revolutionize, or turn to shit. such is the nature of my friends.

The moral issues are a lot more clear-cut in retrospect than they were at the time. Many ardent Abolitionists opposed the war, while no less prestigious a figure than Robert E. Lee was highly critical of slavery. And I think Flux made a good point that the states of the former Confederacy have been made into something of a dumping ground for the moral conflicts that pervade all of America, South and North alike - it's not like lynchings and segregation didn't happen here.

But that line of discussion petered out pretty early. It's evolved now into a (surprise, surprise) vicious dispute about race, racism, and moral accountability. Which just proves to me that there are still some pretty serious issues remaining unresolved about this.
