After dropping her son off at daycare this morning, Mylf and I witnessed nature's fury. A chipmunk was dashing across the street in front of us, with plenty of room to spare between him and my car, when all of a sudden a hawk swoops down and snatches him right before he gets to the opposite curb. The hawk had another hawk chasing it for it's catch immediately after and they stayed low to the ground well into the parking lot of the next building on the industrial park. The first hawk made it skyward and I assume kept it's breakfast. I was too shocked to watch further, and I was also stopped in the middle of the road.

It was amazing to watch, like an animal planet show playing out right before my eyes. Mylf was horrified, and I was too, but amazement surpased my horror. I've seen how fast those little fuckers run! I couldn't catch one going full speed across a street! It all happened so fast I almost didn't realize what happened. I thought I was going to hit the hawk for a second it startled me so much.

I cannot be too surprised because there are a ton of small woodland creatures where I live, also I've noticed more and more hawks each year. So it makes sense that they are eating something, and that something (small woodland creatures) is quite plentiful.
