We took Sam to the vet yesterday afternoon. He'd lost half his body weight since he was last there, and the doctor it was certain it was his liver and/or kidneys, with the possibility of a brain tumor. The blood work was extensive, and would have taken a couple of days. He was obviously suffering. I couldn't let him suffer longer just to find out there was no treatment to improve his quality of life.
We said goodbye, and let the vet send him over the rainbow bridge. I held him after they gave him the final shot and felt his last heartbeat.. It didn't take long at all, so I know he was sick.
He was my noisemaker, and the house is so strangely quiet without him.

Especially with being sick for awhile.
Glad your son is feeling well enough to be doing tricks on his crutches.
