pfffeeww. Long week.
A year and a half ago my son had a slipped capital femoral epiphysis in his right hip. Basically, if I can translate this correctly, the growth plate at the top of his femur slipped out of place, along with his femur. The doctor put a screw in to stabilize his femur.
Fast forward to last week. Zach is having extreme leg pain and loss of movement in his left hip. We went to the orthopedist Monday morning and he had surgery--another screw--Monday evening. The slip was pretty severe, and he expected to put two screws in this time, but got it stabilized with just one.
Obviously, the kiddo is home. He's on crutches for six weeks, no running or jumping for six months. I guess the only good thing is there isn't another hip for this to happen to.

Haven't heard from you in ages.
Hope your birthday was nice.
Sorry your son is having physical problems, but glad it's fixed.
