I've spent a great deal of the past few days watching movies. Saw Click (it was good), American Psycho (freaked me the hell out) Exorcism of Emily Rose (not what I expected), and Alfie, because I love Jude Law. I watched Closer last week and I swear they always give that guy a raw deal at the end of a movie. I also rented The Purifiers, but I couldn't get through it because I just can't get into kung fu movies.
I've removed all of my facial piercings except my left nostril piercing. I look abnormally normal again.
My toenails aren't painted, therefore, I feel naked.
There is a sign at the corner where my favorite bar is that's like a "future development" sign but nobody at the bar or the 7-11 in front of it have any idea what its about.
That bar used to be a butcher's shop, way back when. Just saying.
That bar is also where I met my ex-fiance, and where we had our first kiss. Maybe its better gone...
nah.
I'm getting sick of all the "developing" they are doing around here. We're losing so many trees and habitats. Apopka is being invaded by mice because of it. Some woman on the news said "they're gross and they carry diseases" and I yelled back at the TV "SO DO HUMANS!" Got a rather strange look from my mother for that. In the 10 years I've been living here permanantly I've seen several, well, landmarks really, disappear because they have to build new fancy shmancy shit, or another damn Walgreens. Charlies bar, on the corner of Lake Howell and Howell Branch. Had a turkey on the side of the building because there actually used to be a turkey farm across the street from it. What happened to it? Development. What happened to Charlies? A Walgreens. Where are all of the orange groves? Well, I guess a lot of them froze, but instead of replanting, they are building on them.
When I lived in Alabama and we drove down here, I used to look forward to the rolling hills of orange groves we would pass. Now I'm pretty sure they are all gone.
Don't get me started on the downtown Maitland project.

I hate growth in many ways. It is inevitable that it will happen, but I really think they should keep the ecology in mind a lot more when they do these things.
Like, for example, they built a rather large park by our library. Very nice park, and serves an excellent purpose and is well used. However, they displaced thousands of rats into OUR HOUSES! nice job on that one.... they didn't attempt to shift their nesting patterns or anything they just plowed right through all the land.
So people then had to pay 100s of dollars to get rid of the rats that if they had just done a controlled demolishing, they could have simply forced the rats to migrate nests slowly and NOT INTO OUR HOUSES!.
anyhow....
Why don't you like Kung Fu movies? I love em!
and fuck expansion. lets put birth control in the water!
