So one of the first songs I would like to share is a song by RIVKA. I actually discovered them because of SG. If I'm not mistaken their song Swim High was in the Suicide Girls Relaunch for Katherine. I really fell in love with that song, but maybe I'll get to that one day. I always suggest listening to music with decent earphones or headphones to really bask in the music.
The song opens with sort of a western feel due to the whistling it almost sounds as if there are horses galloping as well. I really like that the song starts off almost drowned out and all of a sudden it hits and it all comes rushing in. Ever since I discovered Grimes I have fallen in love with dreamy vocals and vocals that have been altered or remixed. The song in general has a dreamy feel to it, it is calming to me. This is the kind of music I like to listen to when the sun is setting, there are dark clouds in the sky as if it's about to rain, but it doesn't. I particularly like females vocals more than males especially in music like this. Their voices are usually softer and much more pleasing to me. The lyrics are hard to understand so I'm not sure what they mean. Occasionally you can her some words, but it's still hard to put together.
I don't think RIVKA is active anymore which is ashame. I have come to love them and enjoy their music especially when I am unwinding after a long day. One of the members rebranded and goes by Baby Teeth now. The female vocalist sort of disappeared. I follow her on Instagram, but it doesn't seem like she isn't making music anymore.
