"One morning, awakening from disturbing dreams, Gregor Samsa found himself in his bed metamorphosed into a monstrous disgusting insect."
This book always makes me think of people who have a burden in someone's life. One moment you are the provider protagonist, the next you become a disgusting insect that has to be hidden socially. Would "your folks" resist and remain "yours"?
Very happy to see this book again, but it is a metaphor full of thorns. As much as we think we are tolerant, we will always sympathize with the desire to kill insects.
Let's go to the next book for quarantine.
