Well now that I'm settled after coming back to Monterrey I'll go ahead and tell people about the trip.
I got in on Thursday in the afternoon and Dey drove me around Monterrey a little. The city is surrounded by mountains and is quite nice. We finally got the hotel I was to stay at... which was different. The first room they gave me wasn't even clean so Dey went down to the reception desk and got me a new room.
Then when I got to my new room we couldn't get the AC to work so Dey called back down the desk. They told us there was a box that you had to put your room key into that allows the AC to turn on. It had weird light controls and there was no remote. The bed was very low and the room was pretty small. But I had a pretty nice bathroom and I had a view of the pool.
The hotel was attached to another larger, nicer hotel.
Dey and I spent time alone and then she went home for a bit.. haha then she took me out for tacos.
The next day her friend dropped her off at the hotel and we spent the entire day together. We took a taxi to downtown Monterrey and looked around a bit. I got to see the state church of Nuevo Leon. She took me to one of her favorite restaurant where she had me eat some corn fungus but I was sick so I didn't eat a lot.
We then went to a contemporary art museum, which had some interesting exhibits. Then we walked through an open-air mall. She didn't believe me when I said there are places like that in the states.
We took a taxi back to the hotel and watched Donnie Darko. We then got picked up by one of her friends and we hung out and ate pizza while watching movies. Then we headed back over to the hotel and she spent the night (that was nice).
The next day we ate out with her friend but then some happened. I spent the next day alone reading while she did family stuff. It rained pretty hard that night.
My last day she came to pick me up early and we spent alone time together before she drove me to the airport. There was SOOOOOOO much traffic. It took us like 1.5 hrs to a distance that would normally take 20 mins. But we got there in time and ate lunch and it was nice.
Then I came home.. and now I'm doing MCAT stuff... weeeee
