it's called the el torreon. but it's mostly a show venue, i don't think it's open every night.
however, when in KC, you should mos def check out Davey's Uptown and or Johnny Dares. Jill has been known to occassionally work at the latter. and the former is a cool place to check out some rockabilly.

i really wanted to come to austin for sxsw, but i waited too long to buy plane tickets and now they're ridiculously expensive. i shall be visiting your fair city eventually though. it's home to three of my favorite people in the whole world.

where do you tattoo? my tattoo artist ex-boyfriend used to work in austin for a bit. down near state street i think (is there a state street in austin?, well i know there was a sex shop and a place that sold a large variety of chicken wings, in the same neighborhood). the name of the shop had blue in it. that's all i remember.

The shop opened in the end of November. I think the spots are pretty full for the artisits; there are already 4 there now. THanks for the well-wishes. I'm really happy there and business is picking up for everyone! Yeah!

it was gonna be at the ritz but it got moved to the backroom. yeah, the show at emo's is one of the options i'm considering for new year's. but like you said, i don't know if i'm gonna be up for all the sheep down on 6th! 
i totally understand.
