Rough weekend at work. I swear, it's getting progressively worse at that place.
I'm debating finding a new restaurant to serve at, only this time interviewing the management and making sure they understand what it means to be a leader. It would also be great to find a company that has equal concern for both labor dollars and employee sanity. Serving 15 tables at once because they decided to save $9.50 by sending the other servers home is not really what I had in mind when I took this job. It's bad enough that most people who eat at Mongolian BBQ think the servers are an arbitrary employee at a restaurant where you make your own food. For those of you wondering, the opposite is true. When your server is not doing something for you, he/she is doing physical labor ranging from dishwashing to food prep to actually grilling...and for $2.65 an hour to boot. I've literally lost 40lbs since I started working there.
Okay, okay. Enough bitching. The sun is out, and it's a bit gusty but I can live with that. I've got a few hours here before I have to be cooped up in another building, so I think I'm going to hit a park bench somewhere in Mt Clemens and jack some free wi-fi. I'm having some mental blocks with the writing. An open-air session might help clear out the cobwebs.
