I began watching Naqoyqatsi for the first time last night and noticed that I have been listening to the soundtrack on and off for over a year without even knowing it. I had downloaded a random collection of Phillip Glass stuff, and upon actually putting it on disc, gotten lazy with my labeling. I will say this film was not meant to be watched on a small tv and VHS, my chosen method. I'm going to locate a dvd and larger viewing box this weekend, I think.
I think I need to find a new home bar. My usual haunt has been shifting more and more toward a direction that I don't really fit into. Went to the Mardi Gras celebration last night, and while I turned a blind eye to the tactless drink special (oh yes, they put hurricanes on special), I couldn't ignore the fact that some of the girls had literally next to nothing on and were clearly uncomfortable with the crowd, a mix of creepers and guys who think it's OK to bathe in cologne.
To explain, I've been going to this place for a long time, and as a result, have befriended much of the bar staff. It's undeniable that the crowd has changed in the last year, dare I say without offending anyone, taking a bit of a nose dive. Out of the other regulars I got to know, only about 25% of them show up more than once a month anymore. The combination of the great staff and the regs gave the place a very Cheers vibe, which today seems to only exist on Monday nights, barely at that. Now it's slightly more impersonal with each passing week, and I spend most of my time playing video poker while listening to the girls complain (justifiably) about working there and watching guys get into pissing matches. Don't get me wrong, I still love the place more than any other I've been to in the area. I just wish it was still like the old days, when I could walk in and see no less than 20 people I've met at least once and say hi.

However, I think you'd have an easier time installing horns from a fullsize car. None of those namby-pamby horns they have in cars now; no, you need horns from a boat or land yacht or yore. Those were big, brassy horns for big cars. MOVE NOW OR YOU WILL BE CRUSHED
