ok, backing WAY up to saturday ... EVENT: 400lbgorilla's barn raising.
picking up eddie and kumquat
we finally get to the new Gorilla compound:
(ok, kidding, but I liked the look of the building)
hethral, eddie, kumquat, and 400lbgorilla's Mom, who is not a member of Suicidegirls.com, and the rest of the crew are starting to arrive at the locale
a very cool locale, at that:
Eddie was awarded with her wall:
Unfortunately, I spot a duffel bag full of midieval armour, and think it's a good idea to try some of it on.
I say unfortunate, because lavinia took that opportunity to do something she's probably wanted to do for quite some time now:
Right about here is where the blood vessels of my right thumb knuckle met their demise.
If I ever would have guessed hethral would have been involved in this game, I most likely would not have ever put that damned thing on. (hint: in the boots I was wearing, I stand around 6'5".... use your imagination
and then check out the clenched fist he is making with his left hand. I swear if I would have noticed that through my fear at the time I probably would have just dropped to the ground and turtled.) Luckily, 400lbgorilla was standing by for immediate first aid assistance should I require it.
but... after much monkeybarrelling, we eventually did get down to work, eddie and kumquat were on cutting duty, . with one of these things:
There was wrasslin, where Hethral finally met his match
lavinia stepped in though, and took over keeping the beast under control:
Muggsie (who is not a member of suicidegirls.com) kept everybody under close scrutiny, whilst fulfilling his duties of being nauseatingly cute:
We really DID do some work, we had balconies to create, wood to cut, beers to drink.
The newest Member fenral showed up at the perfect time, using gravity here to help out.. (and oh yeah, that red thing that 400lbgorilla is standing on? yeah, not nearly as stable as you would think)
Hethral came to yet another rescue in the ballast / balancing department:
And we finally got it up and done!
That results in a very happy gorilla:
Finally, around 1:00, angelvanilla and fenris23 showed up, and the beer/slurpee consumption continued
The work was finally done, and much rejoicing was had by all.
Well, mostly just 400lbgorilla being unable to take his eyes off his new balcony..
From that point, it was just another SGBC event, angelvanilla took this pic through a bunch of mirrors that were lined up against the wall, and I think it turned out great!
Then I tried the same
Yes, it was quite the night. I did end up with that nasty bruise on my ass from my own uncoordinated attempt at screwing things, but it was for a great cause.
Took one for the gipper.

Thanks for the nice comments. That place there looks very spacious and fun. Wow, so many people helped out! That's mad teamwork there. I didn't know SGers were so handy in building things. Good journal
