I just remembered the kingfisher from Saturday morning....
how I didn't want to bother trying to get a picture of it hovering there above the water, waiting to dive... it's body perfectly stationary and high enough that it was the first thing taking in the light of the sun which was not quite above our own landlocked horizon, lit up.
I didn't want to take the picture because I knew that it would just end up being this little shiny black dot against a field of blue, and nobody would know what it was.
Now, I am wishing I had taken a photo anyways.
and no, my journal entries don't always have to mean something.
I just remember the kingfisher, that's all.

I'm surprised you can remember anything from that night!
