oh my god what a beautiful day, AGAIN!
Admittedly, I am just a tiny little bit disappointed yesterday that I spent that 10 hours in a room under the stairs, with black walls, no windows, and the loud hum of the new server.
I really hoped to take yesterday as a holiday, with full hopes of simply takin my exhausted ass down to the paradise of Wreck, a backpack full of blanket, a good book and plenty of water and sunscreen. I love being able to hang out on the beach so early in the year. I've been down there in March in years past, but this year it's simply taunting me from the distant horizon of a webcam image.
I still had a great day though, even if it wasn't spent at the beach. I slept past my alarm, slumbering through enough hamfisted swipes at the snooze button that the alarm clock just stopped going off after a while. I think if it could talk, it probably just said
ah fuckit. Hes not getting up
So I missed out a bit on my new routine of starting every day with 30 minutes on the crosstrainer at 6:00am, but still managed to get in for a quick work out. By the time I was ready to go to work, the day was already shaping up to be gorgeous. I was almost late for work, but I still had to stop and get off my bike to take these pics on my ride. The ocean was SO calm, like glass. There was a city crew that had just finished mowing the grass over by the Science World dome, and the smell of that was drifting over to where I was standing when I took these shots. That and the smell of the ocean mixed in with those blossoms I can never see.
Anyways, as much as I wished I wasnt at work yesterday, there was a bright side to the fact that I wasnt on the beach. That automation automator robot I was talking about building a couple of months ago is starting to roll out now, and it went swimmingly well. I can easily give up a leisurely day in the sun for a day at work like that.
Last night, went out for a relatively quiet night at Jupiters with coolheart and lavinia,
All in all, it was a great day, and its looking very much like another one is on the way here. I will never have a problem with our long, grey and wet winters here when this city can blast on the summer with so much flair. I fucking LOVE this time of year.
Ok, its barbershop time. Then after that, I am going to go shopping for the stuff I need to make the rebar appetizer tomato-ginger chutney, roasted garlic and Cambozola cheese, served with garlic crostini.
