ahhhh... It'll End in Tears from This Mortal Coil..... the strong scent of my homemade beeswax candles, nag champa incense, and Murphy's oil soap on freshly mopped hardwood....
Getting there.
I took Morgan out for a walk tonight, and all the blossoms of the trees are out. The beautiful, mostly scentless cherry blossoms and their polar opposite -- these strong lilac smelling ones that you have to hunt for by scent because their blossoms are so nonchalant and plain.
I ended up taking him for a much longer walk than anticipated, longer than average, and when he stopped too often to sniff at something on the boulevard, instead of sayin Morgan.. lets GO and giving his leash a tug, I just let him sniff and did the same. A slow saunter.
Walking past an old church near here, a word popped into my head.
Well, it almost popped into my head, it was more the shape of a word somewhere just out of reach of my language center, but I knew the word. What is that word I know it
A tip of the tongue thing.
Wrath was all I could come up with, but I knew that wasnt it. It was like wrath, but obviously not it, this word was what I understood tonight and I was far from feeling wrath.
I couldnt get it to come out.
I ripped off a small 2 inch cluster of the strong blossoms, put it in my jacket pocket feeling a little bit bad for doing so, and continued on around the blocks home. The sun was going down.
Just now, as the steam from the hot water in the mop bucket hit me with that familiar smell of murphys oil soap, with this CD playing, my candles burning, the real word came through.
Rapture.
I really love that word tonight, especially now that I understand how close to wrath it is.
