i'm overworking.
I finally went to bed just after midnight and I actually did that little leg squirm / smile thing I used to do when I was a kid.
(well, ok, I still do it sometimes)
You know -- when you finally get undressed and slide inside, on some occasions the bed just feels SO good! The fabric is a bit cold on the skin at first, but as you tuck in all the corners around your body and start to feel the warmth feeding back, it's like your whole body is sinking into cottonballs and you just can't help but pull your shoulders up in a tight little quivering shrug while you smile.
That's one thing I can say, my bed is totally fucking comfortable. I just bought it about a year ago, but this was after about 20 years of futons and second handers. I didn't go all out and get the $2500 princess and the pea unit, but I didn't chince out on it either and I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase. Especially on nights like last night.
I picked up the book I am currently reading but hadn't even flipped through to find the page I am at before putting it back on the nightstand and turning off the light. Morpheus was pretty quick with the attack.
I vaguely remember dreaming about my leg being operated on due to the fact that my right leg had started to just sorta hang there below my knee, wobbling loosely while the knee joint itself made this sickening metallic clunking sound. That was my only dream and the alarm went off. It was 5:00 am.
Thats how I know Im overworking. I reached over to try to make it snooze, and instead of hitting the snooze button on the top of the unit, I remember pressing on the LED display that said 5:00. I kept pushing on the numbers themselves to try to make it go into snooze mode and it took a few moments to remember it worked by a physical button on the top.
I was up late designing the touchpanel interface to the system we are currently working on, and spent most of the day yesterday touching the graphic buttons while in testing mode.
I still have to do a birthday story, but Im still getting my head around that.
Yeah, my melon is a little colicky.
Have a good Friday everybody!

I'm thankful to have put the fold-out couch with the lumbar-ravaging mid-back metal bar in my past. So much nicer to fall asleep on an actual mattress now.
Make that workday your subserviant bitch, good sir.
