I was going stircrazy in here today. I had to bolt. I reached into my closet and pulled out my costume, or the beginnings of my costume. I am the super hero cowboy of insanity.
My flowered lapels took me downtown, those embroideries went into Future Shop to buy a Hawksley Workman CD.
I dont know how its possible for me to never leave that store without spending more than I meant to, but I ended up buying 2 Hawksley Workman CDs, and the special edition release of the Fargo DVD.
From there, I went to the Railway club. Sat my country bumpkin ass down, grabbed a pint of Big Rock Traditional, and started unwrapping the plastic off all my new discs.
I fucking love hawksley workman. I even moreso love the fact that hes Canadian. I pulled the sleeve out from inside the CD, and started to read the lyrics of each of the songs
I havent even heard this song yet, and I already love it.

We will still need a song.
Fuck you.
Youre drunk and acting tough.
I know youre sad
Youre not the only one that feels like that now.
And maybe anger is your only choice
But maybe heart and fist and human voice
Might be the better way
Be the way.
But we still need a song
To carry our love away.
To carry it away.
We will still need a song
To dance on our wedding day
To carry us away.
Dont let another tear be in your eyes
We can die in peace knowing we tried
To change our own ways.
The poets let a generation down
Modern music should be a healing sound
Its the only way.

I dunno.
I look at the amount of work I have put into being "the good guy" here, and I see the strange repercussions coming down my way in the shape of hatred and abandonment. I won't falter though, I won't bend and agree that this compassion is wrong.
I won't accept that this respect is incorrect.
Nor will I react. I will not give her the reason she is hunting for, the reason to hate me.
It's not because I want her back, I am not putting this work into trying to undo a done.
I just see that this is the way life should be lived. I can't undo the last 12 years, but I can make sure the next 12 years are honest.
I am trying to
be the way.
