I dont know if you spend your time or money doing things like this. However poor I am I always try to do something. This year for Jazzfest down in New Orleans we are volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. I sent money to darfur and am planning on sending shots. But you need to have this compassion, this need to help it has to be your nature, you need to make it that way. My first concern is Darfur. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse. Please at least read about this. Dont let them die in vain.
Millions of civilians deprived of aid by the Sudanese government
Take Action On This Issue
On March 4, 2009, the government of Sudan expelled and suspended the operations of 13 international humanitarian aid organizations and at least 3 domestic aid organizations operating in Darfur and across Sudan. Organizations working in South Sudan were exempted for the government's order. The government's action followed a decision by the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al Bashir on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Without the food, water, and medicine provided by these aid groups, millions of vulnerable men, women, and children in Darfur and throughout Sudan face starvation and disease. You can act now to get these agencies urgently reinstated.

That whole situation over there is shit. It's a fucking shame that so many countries of the world spend billions of dollars on trying to blow each other up. These folks are in a living hell, and there's no excuse for this to go on in today's world. If the powers that be actually gave a shit, they could handle it in a couple of years. It's so awesome that regular folks have the heart to give their precious time and money to help in whatever way they can.
