Mele Kalikimaka Haouli Makahiki Hou!!! And all that jazz. Sure Christmas has been pillaged by corporate entities, and for those christians out there, Boondocks said it best with, "Christmas is a pegan holiday, and jesus probably hates you for celebrating it." Anyway, it rained today so the ideas of a white christmas were right out the window, or at least puddling in the poorly laid asphault of the parking lot down below my balcony. My other hope of watching the Charlie Brown Christmas special was also shot down when I found that it had played only once 2 weeks ago. Back then I was still getting over my annual November tryptophan overdose. One nice thing to come of all of this is that my friends new baby Ember, and my new Niece Isabella got to celebrate their first Christmas. at their age they have yet to reach the point where they are jaded by the world around them. It will be a few years before their youthful hopes and dreams of a wonderful world collide with the harsh reality we have made for them. If only the fabric of our reality were born from the mind of a child, thought the idea of candy cars, and chocolate waterfalls my cause a sharp rise in the amount of diabetes cases around the world. But even then, the eyes of that child would some day open and the world as we know it would come to an end, in the form of some apocalyptic tantrum. Wow, it takes a holiday to get me this pessimistic. Oh well, happy days to one and all, and may all your cars turn into blocks of taffy on doughnut tires.

Mele Kalikimaka! Somebody actually called me and left a message (she is at sea; long story) to that effect. "Apocalyptic tantrum"! I'm all for it. Sounds a little like a band name.
