Wow. A lot of things have been going on. As always, there are the normal activities that drain me of time and energy, such as work and school.
Oh, and then there is the supremely wonderful desire to spend as much time as I can with my new girlfriend.
It's been a little crazy. We first e-mailed each other last Tuesday.
I was feeling incredibly bored on Monday, so I figured I would entertain myself by putting my photo up on Hot or Not (where so far, I am pretty much your Average Guy: A 5.3 rating, and hotter than 48% of the other guys; go me). I filled out a profile, and added a couple of keywords.
Well, Tuesday I got an e-mail saying someone wanted to meet me.
I checked out her profile, and nearly didn't click "Yes" to meeting her back. We had one thing in common: movies---which is nearly universal in profile keywords. We might as well have listed "breathing." And her other entries included "baseball", "hockey", and "sports."
True story: my ex-wife's sister and I once left a hockey game after the second period because we thought it was the end of the game.
A sports buff I am not. But what the heck.
So we met at Starbucks on Wednesday evening around 7:00, and talked for about an hour. She had eaten, but I was starving, so we went to Marie Calendar's, and talked there until they all but kicked us out at 11:00. I drove back to the Starbucks parking lot, and we ended up talking until about 2:30 in the morning. We agreed to meet on Friday afternoon, and parted ways to get a few hours of sleep before work the next day.
I called her on Thursday, and neither of us were doing anything, so she came over. We woke up together Friday morning. And Saturday. And Sunday. And this morning as well.
What a wonderful way to spend the weekend!
We can't spend much time this week together because my mother is flying down for her spring break to visit me and my son. Both of them are going to stay here during the course of her visit, until Thursday.
It's going to be a busy week. On top of having company, tonight is the last night of the class I am taking, but I have until Friday to refine one paper for the class and write a second one.
In other news, my prom ticket came in the mail at the beginning of last week. I'm still very excited, but now I only have one ticket, and I'm part of a couple. We'll see what happens.
Not sure when I'm going to get back to my daily updates. I can't promise anything, but I'll see what I can do.
