For those who asked about the speech, I got 19 out of 20. I got marked down a point because I missed the part about needing a visual aid.
Oh, well.
Tired tonight. That'll learn me to not stay up reading/posting on SG. Okay, it won't, but it should.
I got to see my three year old son this evening for the first time in three weeks! He was on vacation with his mother and grandparents in Austin and New Orleans over the break. The sad part is, he probably saw more live boobies than I did (for those of you keeping track, if he has seen one pair, he's doing better than I did...).
My two roommates (a couple) left on a last minute trip last night. To Spain. For a week. Must be nice to have frequent flyer miles coming out of your ass.
I'd like to thank Annabelle for making me laugh this morning. A lot. I was reading her journal, and her "a.d.d. much?" comment really got me going. If I had been drinking milk, it would have shot right out of my nose. Thanks, Hon.
I had this odd feeling as I was driving around today. I felt like I wasn't connected to anything; as if the world had somehow changed around me while I wasn't looking.
Geek Stuff
I'm a huge computer geek. I have sold off or given away a lot of my older computer equipment, and still have two Sun systems (a server and a workstation), 4 PCs, and my PowerBook. The Sun machines both run Solaris. Three of the PCs run Gentoo Linux and the fourth PC runs m0n0wall. I thought I was going to put Gentoo on the PowerBook as well, but I have since decided that I heart OS X, and there's no reason to change.
All of my SG posts are written in vi (or vim rather, but I have it set to vi compatibility mode---I can't stand any of the extra "features," including multiple undos and syntax highlighting ), brought up in TextEdit to spell check, and then copied and pasted into the browser window.
I can't stand Microsoft products, and don't run any of them at the house.
And that has been your Geek moment for today.
