My photographer friend use to loan me his Nikon D100 for all my digital work when I need a digital camera. And he used my medium format equipment for some film shoots. So if digital speed is not needed we just scan medium format negatives and slides but now that the price has dropped on the Minolta 7D and since I have a Minota Maxxum 35 mm system I went ahead and ordered it, so now I have my own digital system. Instead of switching camera systems to Nikon or Canon to go digital I just waited for a Minolta digital camera. But the 7D wasn't released till Jan 05 and the price was too much, so since they dropped the price I will add it to my Maxxum camera system. I see so many wannabes buying digital and adjusting the image on the viewfinder till they get it right without any knowledge of basic photography. That doesn't make you a photographer at all. A real photographer can shoot a chrome and get the exposure dead on everytime, as you have no room for error with slides. How many of these wannabe photographers could get paid big bucks to shoot a chrome and not fuck up the photoshoot? I am anti-digital for the one reason that it increases the amount of shitty photographers on the market. But I actually will use a shitty photographers business website as a marketing tool for my business and to my advantage and I bet I will market a shitty photographers business website and show more people their website than they do on their own. And speaking of business, I'll shut their ass down if I find out their scamming girls and taking their money without a business licence, about 8 wannabes have mysteriously been visited by the city and state. The state of New Mexico doesn't like a businesss that hasn't paid a gross receipt tax in several years. People are paying these digital photographers lots of money for weddings and getting a lousy CD with fucked up wedding images and some females are getting unusable photographs for their model portfolios after paying lots of money. So I don't have a high opinion of digital anymore for those reasons. Nowadays if you got the money almost anybody can get away with being a photographer.......except to a real photographer.
