1. How long have you been a photographer?
My first encounter with photography was when I was 15 years old when my grandmother gave me my first compact camera. It was a simple digital camera, but it was my companion for my first photographic outings and self-portraits. As a teenager at that age, I was already trying to recognize my surroundings and myself in images as something therapeutic. It was quite an experimental stage because the camera didn't have manual functions, so I had to figure out how to get the results I was looking for.
2. Why did you choose to pursue a career as a photographer?
Well, at first I tell you that I come from an art loving family. My maternal grandfather was a singer, my father is a musician and my mother painted in oils when she was younger, so the apple didn't fall very far from the tree, lol. As I said before, photography was always therapeutic and expressive outlet for me. When I finished school I decided that I simply wanted to do what I loved so much and fulfill a dream.
3. Besides photography what are your interests/hobbies?
My other big passion is music. Music has always been my self place for as long as I can remember. And with the influence of my parents and grandparents, I have listened to music from a very young age. At 19 I started going to bass classes. Later, I had to leave them because in my old job we did not have much time flexibility, but at the beginning of this year, I slowly returned to one of my greatest passions, I am so happy! :)
4. What are your 5 favorite SG shots?
Well, this is a difficult one!
@valkyria
@nefka
@mandeelou
@durazno
@nykki
5. Which is your favorite lens? Why?
I guess my Sigma 17-50 mm 2.8 because its practicality makes me able to be versatile when shooting.
6. Whose work has influenced you most?
Definitely @aymi. She was the first photographer I met on the site and I was mesmerized by her art from the beginning. When you see Aymi's art, you can literally feel the softness that her sets emanate.
7. What one superpower would you want and why?
Fly, definitely.
8. What kind of gear do you use?
Well, I recently got my Nikon D750, yay! And as I said before, my Sigma 17-50 mm 2.8 and also my Nikon 35 mm 1.8
9. What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer for you?
The first thing that comes to my mind is when I see the faces of the girls looking at the camera screen. There is nothing in the world that can beat that. Being able to show the girls the look I have of them makes me very happy. Also friendships, of course! To have the possibility to travel and meet models and photographers of the site and have fun experiences in beautiful places. No other job give me that possibility and it's wonderful!
10. What kind of tools do you use for post processing?
Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
11. What does photography mean to you?
It is a material connector that functions as a bridge between two or more beings. You can do whatever you want with that connector and try to make the viewer feel apart of your soul. It's a powerful power.
12. If you could time travel, when/where would you go?
I would travel to 1973 to see Led Zeppelin live at Madison Square Garden. Then I could die happy (?).
13. What is the most difficult part of being a photographer for you?
The self-demand. It is something useful, as long you know how to measure.
14. What makes the good picture stand out from the average?
Intelligently capture the light. To be able to play with that. Visibly show something that cannot be seen at first glance.
15. What inspires you?
To travel. The new stimuli. Live new experiences (sorry, I'm a Gemini, lol). Being able to create without limits. The movement. The surrealistic art.
16. What is your favorite shot someone else has taken?
How difficult to choose just one!
Teaserama shot by @Lady, featuring @Maud and @Hex.
17. Is there an image that sums up you best?
Well, it is not a photo of myself, but it's a photo that I took very recently of @anadevin in a session we did at her house.
18. Tell us something about yourself that no one would guess?
I've been reading tarot for a while. And I also write a lot, since I was a child.
19. What is your favorite shot you have ever taken?
Probably this portrait of @numa who is a total goddess, made in France.
20. Whatβs the best piece of advice youβve ever been given?
Don't forget to play. When we lose that, we are fried. It applies to everything.
