Get To Know A Photographer Q&A @saria
- 1. How long have you been a photographer?
- A: Started in 2014, so 6 years!
- 2. Why did you choose to pursue a career as a photographer?
- A: It's gonna sound cheesy but I just felt the calling. I started as a model and I liked it but there was something about being able to capture beauty that intrigued me, and as soon as I tried it I couldn't stop!
- 3. Besides photography what are your interests/hobbies?
- A: I love everything that involves creativity and art. I love performing as a dancer and singer it feels like I can never have enough stage time!
- 4. What are your 5 favorite SG shots?
- A: @YUKO from an upcoming set π
-
@BENGAL a new babe on her debut set!
@LIRYC in her latest set still in member review π
- 5: Which is your favorite lens? Why?
- A: I really love my 35mm, that's the one I use the most. I use to shoot everything with my 50mm but when the space was reduced the 50mm couldn't give me the wide or full body shoots so I ended up switching and it worked out perfectly! I'm saving up to get a 24-70mm that I wanted for a long time.
- 6. Whose work has influenced you most?
- A: Definitely @CAUSTIX's work. I guess we share the love for the darker shoots and he was the first one that went for it on SG (since then I've been brave enough to add it on my own work too). When I joined the site my main inspirations were @ALISSA and @CORWINPRESCOTT's work.
- 7. What one superpower would you want and why?
- A: I'd love to be able to fly but I don't know if I'll get to use it a lot so maybe teleport is a smarter choice.
- 8. What kind of gear do you use?
- A: Canon 6D, 35mm and 50mm. In the past I used a reflector and depending on the job I use artificial light (not for SG).
- 9. What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer for you?
- A: There is something magical that happens when you send the finished set to the model and she tells you that she loves the set. It brings a lot of joy and sense of purpose to me. I love when models feel gorgeous and sexy with the set we created.
- 10. What kind of tools do you use for post processing?
- A: My allies are Lightroom for color and light corrections and Photoshop for skin retouch.
- 11. What does photography mean to you?
- A: I've always wanted to show my own perspective of the world. So when I found photography I felt like I had the tool I needed to express myself. I've always been creative and since I was a kid I longed to find a way to show who I am in the inside.
- 12. If you could time travel, when/where would you go?
- A: the future! I'm bummed that I won't live as long as I would like to see what the future will look like.
- 13. What is the most difficult part of being a photographer for you?
- A: Not being able to capture what I have in my mind, it's super frustrating! sometimes I know exactly what I want and I see it but I can't put it into words so I can't guide the model to do it.
- 14. What makes the good picture stand out from the average?
- A: I love back light shots, as well as light flares. When the light source comes from the front it's kind of boring since you barely have shadows and the photo can look kinda plain. I like dynamism as well as natural posing. I'm a fan of darker shoots since you can create a more gloomy and depressing vibe lol
- The editing is very important too. I don't like over edited photos/skin. I used to do it and I'm backing up since I like to leave as much texture as I can to get a natural look.
- 15. What inspires you?
- A: Other people's work. When I started shooting for SG I use to watch every single set that a staff photographer shot to improve my work and I can tell I have influences from a lot of the OG photographers. Outside SG I have a lot of artists that I follow that inspire me daily, specially on color work and to be brave enough to try new things.
- 16. What is your favorite shot someone else has taken?
- A: I love @CAUSTIX set with @ENRAPTURE "Afterglow".
17. Is there an image that sums up you best?
- A: not being glamorous when I'm shooting lol
- 18. Tell us something about yourself that no one would guess?
- A: I'm incredibly insecure of my work. After 6 years and with all the experience I still feel I'm not good enough or I'm terrified that the model might not like what we shot :/
- 19. What is your favorite shot you have ever taken?
- A: If we're talking about SG work I have two favorite sets that I think represent my style the most:
- 20. Whatβs the best piece of advice youβve ever been given?
- A: don't be afraid to try new things.
