First off, it was great meeting all the Suicide Girls at the Con. The next week was bad because I almost fell asleep at work 3 times. It took forever for the weekend to come around but when it did it started off pretty good, and better for others.
One thing bad about Comic-Con was that the final parts of my bike came finally came in. I ha to wait until the Sunday to start working on the rims of my bike. On Sunday I laced the front rim and hub and trued it Monday. This was the first time I ever tried doing this. Thursday I greased the rear hub and laced and trued it Friday and mounted the tires. Damn. It went better than I thought and I saved more than $60 doing myself. Shes not my first bike, but she is the first I ever built.
Here she is. What do you think?

Friday wasnt done yet because some friends and I went to Del Mar to bet on the ponies. Now this is where it got messed up. I always thought that if you put your research in, then you would be able to figure things out better, but it seems dumb luck always wins out. My friend kept telling me to bet on the longshot but I felt I had the right choice and guess what? Yup, I lost and my other friend won not because he wanted to bet the longshot but because he chose it based on the name. Damn. I could have used that money on some more bike stuff. Oh well you win some and you lose some. Lesson learned: throw all the stuff out the window and bet based on the name. Its more fun that way.

First loss.

Second loss. I thought I bet the on the sure thing.

And they're off!!!

And I lose again. Oh well. At the horses made it thru the races safely.
Oh yeah we had Chinese food that night and my fortune cookie said, You will lose the small ones, but you will win the big one. Hopefully this comes true. (and I can buy and build more bikes).
After that the weekend was just blah.
