OK people. Time to help me out.
I am stuck in a creative rut for food and i am get really tired of essentially cooking the same 5 ingredients into the same dish, and declaring it a different variety based purely on what spices i put on it. (i.e. Tonight i'm having mexican, because i put cayenne pepper and hot sauce on my food. Tomorrow i will put soy sauce and sesame oil, thus making it "general Asian food")
throw down some basic foods that you cook yourself as a staple of your diet. I'm assuming staple foods are generally easy to make. And i'm vegetarian and TRYING to be health conscious! Cool ideas or tips on good recipes would be so badass.

If anybody wants to buy me this for the holidays i would be a happy camper...

Let couscous be your friend, it's relatively cheap and can go with nearly anything in place of rice for fillingness. Orzo too. Keep nuts and peanut butter, jam, bread of some sort, cheese, and whatever veggies strike your fancy. For fun, toss in some fruit.
And there's always the staple of bean soup - which is a couple of cans of beans and whatever else happens to be lying around. orzo is good.
Garlic is my favorite seasoning as is white pepper.
Earthbalance buttery spread and some veggiemite are good breakfast yum, as well as good starts to sandwhiches filled with yummyness.
(This of course is followed by the question of what are you currently eating that needs variety?)
Hm.. so what are your favorite type of food.. genres? I have a recipe for a Thai wok/stew thing I could send, (with soya "chicken".. if that's available to you?) It's got lime and green curry as main spices, and some ginger.
Or a risotto maybe? If you like parmesan cheese..
