Damn fine day today. Finally got back to work after my lengthy belly sickness. Today's assignment was to take the photos at the Presidential Awards Luncheon at PSU. Best part about such gigs is that I get to raid the buffet, which this time had some wicked hummas and pita, huge buttery, croissants with ham, salami and roast beef, and hand-dipped chocolate strawberries (decadence, yes...). Also found out that I'm getting a $1200 advance for my pending summer work at PSU on Thursday, which is a massive boon. Bought a badass pair of headphones and the Amelie DVD to celebrate.
Right now, I'm drinking a 12-pack of MGD and dorking out on the computer. Trying to figure out what instrument or accessory I'm going to buy with my newfound windfall. Right now the frontrunners are a banjo (which I actually do know a few chords for), or a reverb pedal for the Peavey.
Playing with MIkael on the weekend reminded me of just how much I love playing the guitar. I get stale sometimes, since it's usually me playing by myself for myself, and whenever I play with someone/for someone, I realize how much fucking fun the guitar really is. Hansel is working on a studio setup, and I'm thinking I might just sit in with him a few times and see what comes of this. I record myself from time to time on the PC, but actual studio time is a bit different.
No rock star dreams here, but playing guitar fills a major niche in my soul, and I would like to eventually play bars and share my musical interests with people. Practice, practice....
Edited to say that I think my roommate is getting some in my bed right now. I haven't even gotten any in my bed, damnit....what the fuck is this crap?!

Thanks for the mention! I look forward to sticking microphones in front of you. I'm moviing soon and really hoping to find a place with a better set-up for studio work. The ambiance in my current apartment is pretty cool though. I'm a little sad to see it go actually.
The cool thing about being digital is how easy it is to move everything. I have a lot to learn and a bit of gear left to pick up. I should be fully operational by the end of September.. I am almost passable now.. The motu 828mkII has more of a learning curve than I expected. The old motu was easier to understand.
The cool thing is that I plan on working for free indefinitely. I'm doing it to learn and to be involved in what I love.
