Saturday night, house to myself for once. My oldest friend in the world (as in, known the longest, not chronological age) randomly moved to Portland, and since I'm dirt poor and he has no place to stay, we've temporarily joined forces. Unfortunately, I had adjusted quite well to living alone, and having someone around all the time is really pissing me off, especially since his temporary bedroom is my office, with my computers, guitars and such. He is a good roommate, likes to cook, very clean. But, I just don't want to live with anyone anymore. No one at all. And he and I are....well.....very different. He's kind of frat guy preppy, and I'm, shit, I dunno what I am, but certainly not that. Were I to meet him for the first time tomorrow, I'd probably hate him. But, we've been friends since I was 3, so all of that slides to the side. When you're a little kid, playing GI Joe in the ditch, none of that matters anyway. But, I'm craving time alone, and he's working a double shift today, so right now it's me, a case of Busch (all the gas station had in my price range) and my guitar. Working on Spiritualized's "Ladies and Gentlement We're Floating in Space", which is pretty much a ripoff of Pachelbel's Canon in D. I can totally play it, but the Bm is giving me shit fits, so there is a large pause in a portion of the song when I'm playing it.
Started my job at PSU, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm currently developing curriculum for a new minor, "Civic Engagement." It's still bizarre to me that I'm actually sort of knowledgeable and qualified in the non-profit sector. Large strides away from my last semester of undergrad school, selling plasma and eating fishsticks. Well, I still eat fish sticks.

Sounds like you'll work it all out with your roomie, as long as he knows it's a temporary situation. I've found that sometimes friends just grow apart, especially if they live together.
