Things have just gotten interesting with the Portland move. PSU has bumped my work hours down, which means the pay drops from $800 a month to $625. Not too big of a deal really, since I'd have to get a part time job either way, and having less hours to work at PSU means more hours to work elsewhere. But, I've just been told that PSU can't even "officially" offer me the job until September 15th, and I have to move out of my house here and head to Portland on August 31. Hell of a gamble. But I figure, if I move to Portland and don't get the gig, at least I'm unemployed in a new place, instead of the same vortex that is Hattiesburg.
