I was flipping channels on the music stations and stopped on the classic r&b station and it made me think of being back in California and going to San Francisco. Mom and Dad always listened to the oldies station so listening to it brought back memories. I can still see the drive into the city clear as day. Past the mall and then past the busch brewery, which smelled like pee in the early morning, and on to Vallejo. Over the two big hills and then onto highway 37 past Marine World Africa USA, which is a 6 flags park now.Or at least it was when I moved away 5 years ago. Much cooler when it was just the animal attractions. On through Vallejo, past Mare Island, a decommisioned Navy base where they filmed some X-Files episodes, and out into the wetlands. Then onto hwy 101 through Marin and Sausalito. Then through the tunnel and as you come out theres the Golden Gate Bridge. If youre lucky its covered in fog. Cross the bridge and then its into Golden Gate Park. Or if you stay on the freeway you can take it down to Embarcadero and theres Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf, and if you wanna walk down Embarcadero, you can check out the cool shops and stuff. Man I miss being able to go into San Francisco...
