I had such a bad depression spell lately that I felt so disconnected from everything and fell behind in so many areas. I feel like I am finally out the other end, for now, at least!
While I'm still in this positive mindset, I wanted to note 3 things I'm grateful for, to serve as a reminder if I ever feel the sad thoughts creeping in:
1. This life: life is incredibly short and we take it for granted a LOT of the time, but simply being here is a wonderful gift that we should cherish. We can experience nature, earth, the universe in all it's glory without even venturing too far. I am looking out my window right now, up at the stars, and it really is incredible to think how vast space is and how we are here in the moment, one tiny part of that.
2. My SG fam: as obvious as it is, I wouldn't be the person I am here today without the people I surround myself with! That includes a lot of you reading this. I have met so many amazing humans via SG and am still meeting more of you each day - I love the connections I make, the friendships that have blossomed, and the fact we are all here for each other no matter what, if anyone needs it. You have helped me in my darkest times and for that I am so grateful <3
3. Music: the ability to feel all kinds of emotions through the art of music. How amazing is it that certain sounds can influence so many different moods?! I compiled a playlist when I was feeling down and it helped in reminding me I'm a boss ass bitch. I also have a chilled playlist to help me sleep or relax. Music really does soothe the soul.
There are so many more things to be grateful for, I tend to focus on 3 at a time.
