I have returned and thanks to the benevolence of a wonderful SG member my membership has been renewed!
So Rhode Island was nice, the weather was great and I invited Zorba up for a few days which was nice because he provided a "buffer" between me and the kids.
Ate some EXTREMELY fresh oysters harvested right outside my window on the salt pond and though I wouldn't say it was relaxing I did get to relax every now and then.
Now in a week I am off to my convention and there is a welcoming party with an 80's theme.
Being who I am I don't want to go as Madonna or Cyndi Lauper or Jane Fonda...EVERYONE is going to be doing that and those who won't be dressing as those ladies will be wearing what they feel is typical 80's attire.
I had this brilliant idea that I would go as Julia from the novel 1984...I'd wear a blue mechanic's jumpsuit and a red sash but my kids told me it was too esoteric.
So I'm on the look out for a DIFFERENT 80's costume...I was thinking something Cyberpunk...I'd prefer Steampunk but I'm not sure if that was the shizz in the 80's...I at least have Blade Runner to reference.
I also thought about punk but I don't know...any ideas?!?
