So, we're entering the latter end of the year, it comes that time when my mates and I start discussing contenders for the coveted Album Of The Year title.... We've already had metallic gems released from Mastodon, Textures, Meshuggah, Today Is The Day, Pig Destroyer and Dillinger Escape Plan. We've still got new albums from Isis, Converge, Cult Of Luna and the full length from Meshuggah to come this year. I think it's gonna be a lengthy, alcohol fuelled debate in the pub come December.
This weekend has been the 'geek' weekend for me.
Burnout 3 came out on the PS2, that game shreds, where else can you slam into cars and buses at 150 mph without killing anyone and actually be awarded for it ? Awesome.
The Star Wars DVD box set finally came out, all three movies (what do you mean there are three others ?), digitally restored in glorious 5.1 surround sound.... close the curtains, shut the light off and relieve the cinema experience in my own front room. Genius.
After years of searching I have finally managed to download all 39 episodes of the Mysterious Cities Of Gold, now if, like me, you are a product of the 80's you will no doubt agree that this was one of the greatest cartoon series ever created.... and I have them all.
Finally.... I preordered Halo 2 for my X-Box, which will be a serious piece of gaming joy....
Now, from reading this you may think I am a fat Star Trek watching recluse, who still lives with my mother... but I am actually going on a date this week... nice.
