we have a new african wild dogs exhibit, which to me seems the worst of all of them. the pack constantly plots and searches for weaknesses.
but, then, some of the smaller animals have such horribly difficult lives in the wild. life is a constant struggle to hide from predators and forage for the meager scraps of food available to them. they seem positively blissful kept fed and allowed to sleep most of their lives away in comfort. the patas monkeys have lots of room, as do the lemurs. they tend not to be animals who roam much in the wild. but, perhaps i'm being niave.
as i said, utterly conflicted.
