So I've become obsessed with the depression-era musical instrument known as the UKELIN.
They are really fascinating...sold door to door in the dust bowl days by fast-talking salesmen....patents and design plans stolen from manufacturers...designed for people with no musical experience, who couldn't read music...well, who couldn't read at all, actually....Really confusing and complicated, even though they were sold as very simple....most have been locked away in attics or stored away in barns for over 70 years....
Anyway, I have two of these on the way. When they arrive, I'm going to lock myself in my apartment and pretend it's 1925...
UPDATE: I just started my own internet radio station....It's pretty bare-bones right now, but hopefully I can do more with it soon. So if you'd like to listen to what I'd consider some damn fine music, go HERE!
