You know what makes a soldier feel like they are obligated to protect those in his country. The training in which he gets to be selected, sets them apart. They choose the best then train them to be even better. Right down to table manners, how we fold, pack speak, everything must be perfect. Learning about his country, his race, his creed. Learning that he stands among the best from the best in a country that stands alone in a fight to protect the world. Its said even from the times of the romans and farther. He who protects must be better then he who is being protected. Our country is starting to loose that focus, we believe that everyone is just as good. We can not protect the world if we feel they can do it. If we don't do it who will? Someone must! In todays technology making the world smaller. We have to stand up for what's right, we must do something wrong, something unforgiving, we must kill in order to bring peace. Too many believe way to strongly about killing others to be convinced any other way like gandhi did to stop killing. I know every nerve in your body says no, even if it means dieing. Stop being selfish its not about you its about everyone. I would so let one person die to save 2 if I had to chose between a group of people to save. That's what this war is about sacrificing a few good men to save all his countries people. It's not easy, it never has.
Kinda a mess nothing to the point, but it's what is in my head.

Your journal entry was eloquent and expressive. The real choices, the tough ones are never easy, I know.
