I can hardly believe that a week from now, I finally (FINALLY!) get to see Portishead live at the PNE Coliseum. Not the venue I would have chosen but it doesn't really matter. I've waited 15 years for this. This is a bucket list show for me so I've secured leave from work and I'm going to enjoy the fuck out of myself with a chill trip to Van.
If your in the area and going, let me know. I love to share the show experience with other fans.
In other news, this past weekend, I got up at 3, went downtown, was first in line and upgraded from the iPhone3G which I've had for over 3 years to the new iPhone 4S. While I wouldn't normally do something so crazy, I was in need of a new phone and it gave me time to kill in which I could work on what's been most important to me as of late, raising money for Extra Life! While I still have to update all the cash and cheque donations, I raised a little over $700 which is better than last year's $500 and greater than my goal of $600! The charity as a whole, comprised of some 13,000+ registered gamers, raised a total of more than...
I can't explain how amazing it feels to be a part of this but if you want to know, go out and join a local charity or a find a cause to champion. Say all you want about it not truly being a selfless act as someone once argued with me, but it at least you'll be doing something to help make the world a better place. The tiniest things done in service to others will make your problems seem smaller, lighter. You'll feel part of something bigger that lasts longer than any concert or sporting event ever will.
It doesn't even require a lot of money or self-sacrifice. Just give a little time. Even by cheering someone on, you are making a difference. Seriously!
Anyway, enough of my monologue-ing. Big thanks to those in SG land who helped out either by spreading the word, cheering me on or donating. There will be at least one kid who will feel better because we helped his hospital purchase much needed medical equipment. Thank you. Thank you and thank you!

Hey, do you have a US psn account? If you do i can get you an uncharted mp code from Subway. I assume that all of the bonuses that you earn will only translate over to the retail copy ONLY for the US profile though. Also, Portishead... So jealous. That's one of the few that i never caught in my concert chasing days. You know, I'm, kind of disappointed with what i perceive to be a lack of enthusiasm from a lot of the gaming outlets regarding Extra Life this year. Playstation Nation was the only one that i follow that was constantly pushing it to get donations and to post results as they came in. I'd hate to feel that they all just got on the bus last year because it was the in thing, and couldn't give a fig about it this year. They could have really aided in doubling that amount.
