Well, it looks like 2011 is a new year... and I'll have a new Job!
They called me on yesterday and offered me the position and we settled on my first day being January 11th!
I'm pretty excited to star a new challenge, working with those on welfare and in need of crisis support, but I'm also sad to leave my current place of work because I really do work with some of the greatest people.
As I mentioned to someone the other day, transitions are oft bittersweet but as Bowie says "Time may change me but I can't change Time."
I didn't necessarily change for the income, I won't get a raise for another year, but because I need to challenge myself and continue to evolve my skills. This job will also give me the opportunity to eventually work in different cities and towns around the Province, which, if you lived in BC, you would realize is a pretty sweet benefit.
I hope to be back in Vancouver within a year or two.
Anyway, I'm just getting into X-Mas as much as an Atheist can by enjoying time with family and friends. It doesn't have to be about religion but I think it can be about enjoying life.
Ricky Gervais has actually written recently about being an Atheist and responded to questions about his article here
