Darkness on the Edge of Gastown.
They are still there, in the darkness, I could here them all night, Vancouver's Homeless population.
5AM wakeup down in Gastown this morning... reminded me of what is both beautiful and ugly about Vancouver. Looks gorgeaous, but there in the darkness, on the Edge of one of the World's Most Desirable Cities to live in, people are barely living. This is what the the Olympic protesters want the world to see; we have a long way to go. Not just in Vancouver, but the world as well. Let's keeping pluggin away at those problems and come up with real, practical working solutions instead of trying to wash them away because they won't just go away. Like bad love.

Go to the five minute mark below to hear a Darkness on the Edge of Gastown; I can't think of a better love letter to Terminal City:
Tell her
She wears too much neon
Tell her
It's hanging off her bones
Tell her
That's all she is
New ways to wear old clothes
Tell her
That I'm staying thin
Tell her
That I'm staying inside
Tell her
When I think about her
Tell her
That I can see the future
Tell her
That her future is bleak
Tell her
That I'm the future
Tell her I'm still alive
Tell her I'm still in love
Tell her to come pick me up
Tell her I'm downtown
In the darkness on the edge of Gastown
Darkness on the edge of Gastown
