Well our stupid Store of Excellence visit went well. in fact it went a bit too well. We spent all of yesterday getting the shop up together so it was nice and tidy for the visit, but not to win the competition. you see, if we win all the staff (including management) get a 10 gift voucher (woo-hoo!!) but we also go into the next round. so next week we'd have to run around making the store look even better than it did today, and have to do something really impressive on top of that as the second round visits are carried out by the really big bosses. This is what happened to us last year and that's why i spent a day last December dressed as Captain Hook. here's a picture so you can see how silly i looked!



Anyway, we really don't need this sort of hassle this close to Christmas! though it's gratifying when all of our hard work is appreciated by the big bosses.

Oh, I've been lucky enough to catch one of the many bugs that are going around at work at the moment. So as i write this my head is pounding, my throat feels like it's been rubbed with sandpaper and my stomach is feeling really rough. But i'm not usually ill for long, so i shouldn't complain.

To cheer myself up I've been watching my Secret Policeman's Ball DVDs. there are some seriously funny sketches by Rowen Atkinson, Alexi Sayles and even jasper carrot. plus lots of other old British comics. it's making me feel a lot better!
