I had a plan to make my own fortune cookies.... all of which the fortunes are "You are Batman" Maybe I should make some and send you a box....then you'll be all "OMG! This is AMAZING! So...yeah... Controlled Bleeding is pretty much my favorite band right now. Paul Lemos, in addition to being a very cool, kind person, is a genius. Seek out some recordings (particularly the earlier ones..circa 'Knees and Bones') and hear the influence. This is the real industrial, kiddies.

Leave your heat behind please, crawl along beside me."

So, this time of year always makes me want to only watch Horror films. I'm compiling my own personal list of faves for October viewing...it will probably change and be added to quite a bit, but here goes...off the top of my head :

"The Haunting" 1963, directed by Robert Wise
"Something Wicked This Way Comes" 1983, directed by Jack Clayton
"Halloween" 1978...

"The morning grey ignites a twisted mess of foreign shapes and sounds/I wish the ceiling was the ground/I'll send you flowers made of silent tiny pieces of the sun/To help me make up for this one/While you send me tidal waves of love when you're alone and I can't remember what you do/To find a way to...

"We recognize our own mortality, and are reminded that in the fleeting time we have on this earth, what matters is not wealth, or status, or power, or fame but rather, how well we have loved, and what small part we have played in bettering the lives of others." - Barack Obama

That was part of his speech at the Memorial Service in Tuscon, AZ tonight...
