MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!!!! MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!!!! MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!!!!

It's time for another super mega rant, this time regarding my thesis.

So...in the circus performance that is our life, all grad students submitting Masters theses are required to have their work checked by the head of the Psychology Department to make sure the works meet APA standards - basically it's an elaborate spell-check process...

Oh the joy! Oh the excitement! This weekend I will be going to Knoebels Amusement Park & Resort. I LOVE Knoebels!! It's a backwoods-o-Pennsylvania, mom-and-pop style, straight-outta-the-1950s amusement park - complete with old-fashioned wooden rollercoaster (built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company - how cool), carousel where you can still catch the brass rings (must beat up small kids to get horses on the outer...

Danville kicked our asses in most everything. I do miss the pretty-ness - but not the bumblefucked-ness. It was nice to be able to get on the highway and actually drive to where you were going without checking the traffic first!
rangerrick:
So, how much fun did you have?? Did you get the brass ring??

It's time for a rant.

I have health insurance coverage through my school. I paid over $3000 for a year's worth of coverage. I've used my insurance twice in that time, for two different accidents. The total of my bills comes to approximately $3500. I just got off the phone with an insurance representative, who patiently explained to me what they will and will not...

Which insurance company are you using currently?
bluefromthesun:
Hey sorry to hear that & I hope your are well; I have insurance from Humana through our business and its ok; but I cant say you will get the kind of coverage we have for I imagine they have different offers for individuals; however you can get a free online quote at http://www.humana.com/
as for your current insurance; you signed an agreement so you probably cant sue, but if you know a lawyer try finding out what he thinks your legal options are you never know; for it seems to me you got ripped off..

I've decided that I need to own a yacht.

I vacationed over the weekend in the small town of St. Michaels, off the eastern Chesapeake Bay, where many a tasty crab has met their death. Everyone there wears khakis and owns a yacht. Chenny and Rumsfeld live there. It was quite charming. According to one of the locals, Rumsfeld is apparently also quite charming. Ted...

It probably is the opulent wealth. Because when I see the boating done by the men in The Most Dangerous Catch on Discovery, that doesn't really appeal to me. Crab fishing in the Barring Sea seems more scary and horror movie like then relaxing.

Well....and I have a slight fear of the water and I get motion sick!

Doesn't Martha Stewart have a house around there too?
atomh8:
yes, opulent wealth makes many a thing appealing. but boats are seriously cool. i would love to become a pirate on one. ARRR!!!

The feminists of the world may hate me, but I found this list to be very entertaining. Since a) I am a woman and b) I fancy myself a bit of a feminist (whatever exactly that is), I feel at liberty to post whatever comments on female behavior I see fit. I am a particular fan of fine and whatever. So what if I'm...

Ok, try not to be jealous, but... in 14 hours and 22 minutes, I'm getting a root canal! Yay!! I'm so friggin excited. Wouldn't you all love to be me. I would like to personally thank my lovely horse who, several weeks ago, bolted at a shadow and knocked six of my teeth loose. blackeyed I guess this is payback for all those years I've been...

That sucks. You'd think if you're already giving them money for tuition they'd figure you're good for 4 bucks. whatever

I had a horse spook once while I was tacking it up. It reared up, broke a lightbulb with its head and landed on my foot. Ouch. Good thing I had my boots on. smile

Life has thrown me some big hurdles in the past few weeks and I've managed to fall over each and every one of them. frown Thus why I was a long-distance runner and not a hurdler in high school track. I don't buy the "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" philosophy. I'm more of a "what doesn't kill you, makes you more jaded" kind of...

I've never ridden a horse before - but would love to try it sometime. Maybe you could reccommend a good place for a novice to go for a few hours to try it.

Hope things are looking up.

I love the new profile picture!

another thing I would love... to come see you ride sometime. I love horses. I've always wanted to learn how to ride but never ever have.

so maybe I could live vicariously through you.

good luck with the training.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!

As a special birthday treat to myself, I took my horse out for a long trail ride through the woods and fields around the barn. It was fabulous. The sun was shining, the weather was just right, not too hot, not too cold. We tackled a few jumps in the woods, cantered through the fields, and even saw a...

Yucky ticks! I use to love riding horses when I was younger. I almost purchased an Arabian when I was 18 but chose not to due to the fact that after I graduated from college I would have no place to board her after I graduated college. Chicago is not very horse friendly. The few places that would board horses when I was a young child have long been closed down. I would have to drive well over 80 miles to the nearest place that wouldnt charge more then an arm and a leg.

How nice it must be. Glad you had a wonderful birthday. Take care. biggrin
horror_queen:
that sounds so picturesque... apart from the ticks of course heh. biggrin
