QUESTIONS FROM MEMBERS:
@Adam_Bovary said You have a beautiful distinctive face. What nationalities are you? What one country is on your bucket list to visit?
Awh, thank you! So I am Afro-Indigenious! More specifically I’m Inuit/Alaskan Native, Blackfoot, Cherokee, and Black!
Ooh I love that question! Without any doubt Greece! I am a Historian by trade and have always been so enamored with Ancient Greece as a society! I love to learn about it, the myths, and legends, their philosophy and how they were able to create such beautiful and lasting works of art. So the opportunity to witness it first hand would be amazing!
@Johnnydiscard said Your debut set is Saturday Morning Cartoons. What are some of your favorite cartoons?
Ah yes, my debut Saturday Morning Cartoons! Now this is going to be so tough for me because I love watching cartoons haha. So I’ll give ya my top three current watches & my top three of all time!
Current -- Batman: The Animated Series, American Dad, Courage the Cowardly Dog.
All time -- Scooby Doo, The Simpsons, Teen Titans.
@Fluffrowe asked What is your favourite tattoo and what does it mean to you?
Oh my! I would have to say my headdress on my right side! My culture is very important to me and having my heritage represented on me in such a beautiful way means the world to me. I wear this everyday and it makes me feel closer to my ancestors. Always ready to face anything with my war bonnet!

@Cinderpage asked What inspired you to start modeling?
I have always had a love for the classic pinup models & burlesque performers; the elegance in their rebellious expressions. Josephine Baker and Bettie Page to name a few. I knew that was something I wanted to do in this life then seeing SuicideGirls not only on the internet, but also the burlesque & being told I should try it (!), gave me not only a new invigoration to achieve those dreams of mine, but a path to pursue it!
@Kingofcool said Love your SG name. Where does the inspiration come from?
Thank you! So actually tying back into cartoons I watched Teen Titans often growing up and Raven’s storyline always resonated with me! Her work towards balancing the power within her while carving her own path and identity no matter what others expectations for her were! As for Noxx: I love to read and the Harry Potter books are some of my favorites. It is such a fun series with great messages. I chose the name because of the (Nox) spell used to extinguish light (lamps and fireplaces) in the book, so as a witch and nerd myself I wanted that represented in my name thus Raven Noxx.
QUESTIONS FROM SUICIDEGIRLS:
How were you first introduced to SuicideGirls?
I [discovered] them as a teen & was recruited at a Blackheart Burlesque show!
~
Where do you find inspiration?
From other strong femmes! Those who have passed, those around, and those who continue to break barriers!
What impact has your culture / identity had on your modeling journey?
I am part Inuit & in our culture females get tattoos to signify parts of our journey and wisdom. I felt so empowered & connected with my heritage when I started getting tattooed. Modeling has given me the ability to showcase my culture!
What is your favorite form of self expression?
I feel creating new art regardless of the medium truly allows me to express myself & whatever I’m going through in my life.
~
What is your favorite form of self-care OR what is your self-care routine?
Mediation and yoga! Focusing on your body & the way it feels in the world around you! These forms of self-care keep me grounded while I’m daydreaming.
~
What part of your beauty routine makes you feel most confident?
My cat eyeliner; there’s something powerful drawing a line that is so sharp, but unique each time!
~
What impact has SG had in discovering yourself as a person and a model?
I’ve been able to meet so many other people who share my interests & passions. Its been amazing to share more of my culture & be able to stand as a representation of a nerdy, goth Afro-Indigenous woman!
Share a memorable experience from your point of view as an alternative model in your ______ community
The biggest memory I have is: even when someone wasn’t educated about my cultures, they still wanted to learn more with kindness and not judgment! The ability to admit sometimes that you’re just unaware, but being open to learn is something I love.
~
Is there anything else you want to share about your ____ community?
Although there is not as many indigenous creators out here, we have a rich and abundant variety of cultures. Inuit style tattoos are making a comeback, and Black American culture is extremely rich & trendsetting. A little love, a little understanding, lots of curiosity; you’ll never know what all beautiful things you can find. -- @ravennoxx
