QUESTIONS FROM MEMBERS:
@Kingofcool asked Where did you get your sg name?
I mainly got my name from Scott Pilgrim Vs The World! That was one of my favorite movies in my early twenties I’ve rewatched multiple times. I also have a knife and rose silhouette tattoo on my right wrist I designed myself. I got the tattoo as a reminder to keep going. There was a time in my life I would self-injure right before adolescence, and I went through a really bad depression in my late twenties which I finally got through with psychiatry. So my name is a reference to one of my favorite movies, and a reminder of what I’ve been through and overcome. Also Knives Suicide is a pretty rad name.

@Amoxi asked What was the best part of turning 30 this year for you?
getting my first studio apartment and getting my first kitty! Thirty has been super eventful for me, I also just did my first SG Shootfest held by @brujaja over the weekend from 08/12 - 08/15 and my first multi set too with @seducente and @seijasyren . So I think it’s multiple answers to that single question haha. But definitely having my independence to have my own space with my own pet in it has been life-altering.
@Cheshire_ asked What inspired you to apply to Suicidegirls?
After I saw a SuicideGirl for the first time. I feel bad I don’t recall the model’s name, but her image had a big impact on me. I had always been into alternative culture however, I went to a really strict all-girls Catholic school, with really strict religious parents and I wasn’t ever really able to express myself. I saw suicidegirls as an act of rebellion but owning your authenticity and true beauty inside and out. And I dreamt of being one of these girls. It took ten years to get around to applying for it, but I’m so glad I took that step even if it took a long time.

I would ask the same about you! I’m Filipino/Irish/Scottish/German/Cherokee Native American. My mom is from the Philippines, my dad is everything else, but out of those things mentioned Irish is his dominant heritage. I actually have a four-leaf clover tattoo with the Philippine’s flag within it to celebrate my heritage.
@Crharrison asked What’s something you like to do with your time off?
I love to skateboard! I use a long board, I’m not good at tricks but I love to just cruise around aimlessly and that’s what a long board is good for. It’s really one of the only things other than my meds and meditating that really help with my anxiety. When I feel like running away from everything, I go on my skateboard and just get lost in the movements and the scenery, feeling the earth move below me, and somehow I know everything will be okay.
@lioncourt asked What’s your all-time favorite memory?
That’s really tricky but, I will give you the memory that first came to mind when you asked that I’ll remember until I die. In my early twenties my ex-boyfriend had met with me at a pool party which we ended up staying there until the morning. We were friends at this point and broke up years ago but, he offered me a ride back on his motorcycle. I’ve been on a motorcycle a few times but this one experience I’ll always remember. We got on the expressway at around 6am and there was almost no cars and it was so quiet other than the motorcycle engine itself. And to see this expansiveness of the road ahead of me with no cars in sight, and seeing the sun rise in the horizon while flying down a freeway. I can’t explain it, it was really beautiful and unforgettable. I felt very alive and somehow very zen and grounded in this exhilarating experience.

@601SQD asked What do you love most about living in NYC?
@601SQD asked What do you love most about living in NYC?
The diversity and novelty of NYC. NYC has a lot of cons, and I definitely don’t blame people who’ve moved out to different countries and states it can be a lot to deal with here. But if it’s two things you can’t deny about New York is it’s unbelievably diverse with heritage, and various identities. And when I say novelty, I mean that this state is never boring. If New York is one thing for sure, it’s never boring. It never will be.

@Star asked What’s your favorite part of shooting a set?
~
@Star asked What’s your favorite part of shooting a set?
Making a vision/idea into a reality. I use this same process when I make art through painting and drawing. I see the concept in my head and want to manifest it into the material world, whether it be modeling, painting, art, or poetry.
@Adam_Bovary asked Where would your ultimate vacation be?
Outerspace! Your question was really hard to answer as I love travelling and I can’t think of countries and states being better than the other, I love the variety of the world. But if you’re talking ultimate vacation, experiencing something out of this world. Like being in a spaceship looking down on earth. But in the meantime, I’d love to visit the Philippines to visit my family as I haven’t yet gone there.

@Babynins asked What’s your favorite food?
literally both pizza and pasta. I’ve always loved Italian food, it’s my favorite food and since going vegetarian I really have a newfound respect on how the dishes already are easily already vegetarian and easy to veganize.

Goth and industrial music! I listen to a lot of Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Marilyn Manson, and Sisters of Mercy
@Bossmanlou asked When you go out for dinner what is your favorite food?
EVERYTHING VEGAN! I love food, and will pretty much devour anything veganized. But, I really love Italian food if you want to woo me

QUESTIONS FROM SUICIDEGIRLS:
How were you first introduced to SuicideGirls?
When I was younger, I attended an all-girls Catholic high school. I was a painter/artist that wasn’t allowed to express myself outside of my art, as I wore uniform everyday. Both my parents were very conservative and I was brought up in a very strict upbringing. One day, when I was in class, I discovered an SG model on MySpace. I thought she was so badass with her bright hair and tattoos; it was exactly the type of self-expression I was secretly seeking in a very repressive environment.

What impact has your culture / identity had on your modeling journey?
A very interesting one, in the realm of modeling I’ve actually been approached by a representative of Ralph Lauren when I was a child in Bloomingdale’s in New York City. I was scouted multiple times however, my mom would tell modeling scouts to leave me alone as she wanted me to get an education and not be a high school drop out in the fashion field. My mom was born in the Philippines and retained a lot of her ideals, and raised me the way her mother raised her. I sometimes wonder if in an alternate universe I’m a cover girl on Vogue if my mom let me begin a career in modeling as a kid. Regardless, because of my upbringing I was highly discouraged from modeling for a very long time although people believed in me. It wasn’t until my late 20’s I had an eye opener that I’d really regret not modeling as she's always been knocking at my door, and I finally let her in.
What is your favorite form of self-care OR what is your self-care routine?
Meditation and adventure! Two things that seem totally contradictory I incorporate into my life to feel whole as an individual. I meditate and do deep breathing exercises almost everyday to manage anxiety and ground myself before a stressful event. But on the flip side, I sometimes have to totally let loose where I’ve done things like microdosed on shrooms and went on The Cyclone rollercoaster multiple times in a row, or gone skateboarding naked or drunk. I seek out quiet and adrenaline at different points in my life, and you’ll never know when I’ll just switch up
~
What part of your beauty routine makes you feel most confident?
My health! My beauty routine is very much health-based. I feel totally confident wearing no makeup and baggy clothes in public, as my skin is smooth from a plant-based diet and my figure is toned from choosing to walk instead of commuting/driving when I can. I make health-conscious efforts everyday with taking vitamins, drinking water, and eating small-portioned vegetarian meals.

What impact has SG had in discovering yourself as a person and a model?
Incredibly liberating, I honestly waited a few years to do SG as I had (no idea) the models had to all do a set of 40-60 photos nude. It was realizing to get into SG I’d have to go bare skin, and it was that apprehension of “What if someone finds me on here?”, “What if I’m ostracized ?” When COVID-19 happened and the world entered lockdown, it really hit me how short life is. I wanted to be happy and stop hiding, and I really am so so happy I did the jump to do this community. There’s no shame, and just a lot of uplifting and positivity between the models and members on this site. -- @knives
