alright, the new ointment they gave me is working. I went to the burn clinic yesterday and they told me that I will not need skin grafts!
so, my roomate is super messy and i don't know what to do. I have lived with him for the past year or so but we live in a smaller apartment now and we have 3 cats and it's hard to keep the place clean. Everytime i have my weekend i reserve one day for cleaning the house. I pay all of the bills and buy almost all of the food. All he pays is rent and the only time he ever cleans is when i tell him to and then he just does one load of dishes. I spend a lot of time at my boyfriends house, partly becaus i don't want to face the mess here. so yesterday was my first day coming home in 3 days and my friend and his girlfriend dropped me off. They came inside and the living room wasn't too bad. I went to the bathroom and since my roomate had not cleaned the litter box the cats had pooped all over the bathroom. I cleaned it up and sprayed air freshener but it was still gross in there. So i come out and the girlfriend asks if she can use the bathroom. Long story short, i was really embarassed. I'm considering telling my roomate that if he can't help clean i'm going to move out. The thing is, is that he is also my best friend and he is also very sensitive and he gets really defensive about things and if he gets proven wrong or made to feel stupid he gets really depressed. Ack! I don't know what to do.

Perhaps try giving your roommate small achievable tasks, and letting him know how an untidy flat makes you feel. Or maybe when you set aside a day get him to join in. Definately when you go away leave a list of "things that must be done to avoid an arsekicking".
Or perhaps just wire him up to an electric shock machine, so everytime he makes something untidy, *BzzT*. He'll thank you in the long run.
