I finally found time to participate in a charity bike ride again, it's been a while. This one is unfortunately, for riding sake, incredibly short at only 13 miles but it should be a fun ride with tons of people involved and for a great cause to boot, that being medical aid in Timor. Hopefully I'll get a fair amount of donations ready. Anyone from my past that knew me before I moved away to Wisconsin knew how serious I was about cycling and how often I rode but after several events happened in my life I had a sort of...I don't know how else to describe it...mid-mid life crisis and sold my last bike off and didn't ride for a while. After things seemed to get as low as possible I slowly started riding around again last year and started to commute again but for some reason my big skull fracturing accident seems to have knocked me out of my funk completely and I've been devoted to riding again and getting more involved. I wanted to do the ACT 6 AIDS ride more than anything but there was no way I could get the necessary donations in time especially considering that I still had to get another road bike first as neither my singlespeed cruiser or bmx would really cut the mustard. I don't know why I'm writing about all of this, I guess I'm just excited to get back into the swing of things even if it's a small ride.
Hope the summer is being kind to everyone.

Good on you for getting back on two wheels.

Oh I hope it goes well. I'm sorry about your accident, I cycle everywhere and I always worry about me head as cars and roads are so unpredictable.
