So I decided to do a list of 10 songs I think are underated.
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
- Overlap by Ani DiFranco. I much prefer the intimacy of the studio version. It has a hushed, intense longing that is only emphasized by the audible space/boundaries. And the slide guitar makes it just perfect. i search your profile for a translation, i study the conversation like a map, cause i know there is strength, in the differences between us, and i know there is comfort, where we overlap.
- Hour Follows Hour by Ani. Quite possibly one of my favorites if not my favorite song of all time. Simply beautiful, heartbreakingly so; the lyrics are honest without being biting, and the guitar work is fucking gorgeous. why do you try to hold on, to what you'll never get a hold on, you wouldn't try to put the ocean, in a paper cup
- Passenger Seat by Death Cab for Cutie. This song catches me in the gut every time. It's another heartbreaker to the point where I'm not putting my favorite line in. I roll the window down, and then begin to breathe in, the darkest country road, and the strong scent of evergreen, from the passenger seat as you are driving me home
- Starting to Hurt by Ryan Adams. I cannot explain the rush of emotions I get with this song, but I get it every time. Take your tomorrow, pain and your sorrow and teach it how to fly
- Believe Me Natalie by The Killers. Another big sweeping sort of emotional song, but I also think of breakfast in a little cafe, nights on the beach and summer sunshine. there's no time for survival left, the time is now, cause this might be your last chance
- Clarity by John Mayer. Yeah how lame, right? WHATEVS. I've loved Clarity since the day I purchased the album (the day after it came out). The electric guitar sends shivers down my spine, and plus, there's trumpets, which are my favorite brass instrument. by the time I recognize this moment, this moment will be gone
- Jellybelly by The Smashing Pumpkins. My first favorite song off of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Catchy pop bubblebum that's blisteringly melodic and rocks out. welcome to nowhere fast, nothing here ever lasts, nothing but memories, of what never was
- Hey Girl by Dashboard Confessional. This song is awesome, I don't care what anyone says. It's catchy and bouncy, and dare I say, upbeat? Mmmhmm. They're all theory, no action, and where I'm from we live like it's the latest attraction.
- The Wonderful Future by Our Lady Peace. First of all this song was the worst possible choice for the final song. I LOATHE the hidden molly track, 18 minutes of silence and then weird robot lady interview. NOT COOL OLP! It will scare the crap out of you if you forget about it. Anyway, the songs is lovely and never fails to make me smile and dance all silly-like. I just wish I could get it w/o the hidden track because I would love to put it on mix cds. she builds a strong alibi, from the future that's here, she needs to know I'm alive, and that I'm flesh and I tear
- Slip by Lucky Boy's Confusion. I really love this song, obviously. They could be brushed off simply as another juvenile pop-punk band, but this song really demonstrates otherwise. The kind of music in the song varies without sound cacophonous, and I love the bridge lyrics which are in a language I can't identify. youve got the sand in the palm of your hand, dont let it slip away.

Perdita's Peculiar Particular: Whenever I drink milk in the summer I put the glass in the freezer for a bit. I think it makes the milk taste that much better.
I think I hit the jackpot.
Hope your FEV ass made it home safely.
Asshat.
