I know I'm on break, but this made me so mad.
Offering someone your condolences when they have lost someone close to them is wonderful.
Telling them they are absolutely beautiful in the immediately following sentence is not.
Why?
When someone is experiencing a loss like this the last fucking thing they want to read is someone telling you how hot you are. Because you could be the hottest thing in the fucking world and it won't bring your mom, dad or whoever back. Because your beauty is out of your control as much as who gets to live and fucking die.
Thank you.
ps yes I saw this on SG but will not say where. Consider it a public service announcement.

There's nothing wrong with sex, wanting sex, and thinking someone is attractive... but you're right, that was a truly tasteless and seemingly insincere gesture.
I got angry for similar reasons when the Jon-Benet Ramsey case exploded all over television, but I won't get into that. Suffice to say that I'm sorry the girl died and suffered such a tragic early end, but the way media handled it was just disgusting to me.
Exploitation of death and especially of the grieving...ugh. What the fuck.
Sorry for being a random stranger who ranted breathlessly in your journal. It pulled a pet peeve of mine, is all.
