November 1st is National Author's Day in the US. This is the reason that I will talk about my favorite books. Well, that .. and because they so decided @charmaine @missy and @lyxzen.
It really is a simple task, yet is too complicated ... and I do not want to blog a thousand pages. what I will do is list .. my top ten of the best books I've read in my life, or at least those that are among my favorites, and tell them why.
- Flowers in the Attic is a novel by VC Andrews novel published in 1979. It is the first book in the Dollanganger Saga, which is followed by Petals on the Wind titles, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows. The novel introduces us to the early life of four brothers who are isolated from the world in an attic. the 5 books are incredible, but this being the first book, that´s why my heart is stolen when I was about 15 years or so. and10 years later yet I still love the story.
- The five people you meet in heaven, novel by Mitch Albom. A novel full of hope and wisdom invites us to ponder the purpose of human life and our relationship with others. It is the touching story of Eddie, a man who, after his death in an accident, wakes up in Heaven. This site is not the paradise he envisioned, but the meeting place with five people who, in one way or another, determined the course of its existence. The encounter with these individuals forces Eddie to reflect on his life and understand the true meaning of its vital transit.
I appreciate the time that I came across this little book. Again, it has shown me that one should not judge a book by its cover or by size. I came across this book and the synopsis got me. Really, don´t read long books of this type, when the story is taking its course starts giving you very good lessons.
The idea of a heaven after death, to meet up with those you have loved and who each teach you something is a promising idea. I recommend this book completely.
- The Hunger Games. Novel By Suzanne Collins. novel of adventure and science fiction told in first person from the perspective of Katniss Everdeen, a teenager of sixteen who lives in Panem a post-apocalyptic nation located in what was formerly North America. The book shows in most of the experiences of her in "The Hunger Games", an annual event held in Panem where a boy and a girl from each district to be in age from twelve to eighteen must fight to the death between them while they are seen on national television.
I don´t have to explain much about this story .. it is well known, and more at the moment that is about to premiere the third movie.
- The Zombie Survival Guide. by Max Brooks. This book will be the key to survive the hordes of not dead men that might be stalking you in this precise moment without you knew it. Zombi. Guide of survival offers a complete protection thanks to advices verified to safeguard you you and to your dear beings of the living dead men. is a book that might save the life.
a masterpiece zombie of Max Brooks of obliged reading. The book this one written with a degree of seriousness and realism, that on having finished it you will want to have a prepared rucksack of trip and a shotgun surrounds for if the flies. It reports with enormous detail a manual of survival zombie completely. How to defend your house of an assault, how to see the signs of the birth of an outbreak zombie and to flee of them, better you arm body to body and distantly to be protected, and a length without end of examples to survive.
- World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, Novel written by Max Brooks who reports a fictitious world war against the zombis. Guide of survival continues the subject matter of the first book of the author Zombi-. Whereas the exposition of the Guide is to imitate the manuals of survival for dangerous situations, " World War Z " appears as a set of interviews to the survivors, grouped in chapters presented chronologically, each one relative to a great epoch of the conflict, from the appearance of the so called " patient zero " up to the end of the war, a decade later.
- Diary of a Zombie. Novel by Sergi Llauger. I admit that initially the author amuses himself with his personage, it gives him free rein to his imagination and leaves him to wander without course or aim stopping to demolish what he would do in an empty and devastated city. It is late a bit in centring and commits a few digressions that though they serve to know the personage the truth it is that to my they were on the verge of separating of the book, less badly than it I did not do.
In all that it appears a reason to live for Erico, the personage transforms and loses his cynicism and his egoismo of gradual form and one turns into an improbable hero, rotten, staggering and more zombi that never that tries to save a 8-year-old girl those who try to damage to him. Then it begins " the good thing " and the book advances of adventure in adventure of difficult situation in difficult situation and I admit that I could not stop reading until I finished it.
- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. is a 2009 parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It is a mashup combining Jane Austen´s classic 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice with elements of modern zombie fiction, crediting Austen as co-author. The story follows the plot of Pride and Prejudice, but places the novel in an alternative universe version of Regency era England where zombies roam the English countryside. Described as the "stricken", "sorry stricken", "undead", "unmentionables", or just "zombies", the deceased ancestors of England are generally viewed by the characters as a troublesome, albeit deadly, nuisance. Their presence alters the original plot of the story in both subtle and significant ways: Messages between houses are sometimes lost when the couriers are captured and eaten; characters openly discuss and judge the zombie-fighting abilities of others; women weigh the pros and cons of carrying a musket (it provides safety but is considered "unladylike").
- The Millenium series consists of three bestselling novels, originally written by the late Stieg Larsson. The two primary characters in the saga are Lisbeth Salander, a woman in her twenties with a photographic memory and poor social skills, and Mikael Blomkvist, an investigative journalist and publisher of a magazine called Millennium. Blomkvist, the character, has a history similar to Larsson, the author. Larsson planned the series as having ten installments, but due to his sudden death, only three were completed and published. They are:
The Girl with the Dragon Tatto, The Girl who played with fire and The girl who kicked the hornet´s nest.
- Apocalypse Z, novel by Manuel Loureiro. a thriller on a viral pandemic that expands all over the world and transforms to the infected ones in Not Dead men began as a blog in Internet. Due to the great success that reached, it was published. A group of caucasian rebels assaults a few military facilities liberating a disease that expands without I stop all over the planet. The disease kills the person who suffers it but the affected one revives, continues walking and his only aim is to satisfy his hunger bitting the not infected ones. The authorities take measurements creating Sure Positions where to group the population. But this is insufficient. Not Dead men are too much and little by little they end with the company that we know.
Tremendously addictive pace of reading. Brilliant description of the emotional and physical conditions of the protagonist. The first chapters are simply, excellent.
- - Autopsy Zombie By Steven Scholzman. In all that the living dead men arose all over the world, a group of brave doctors and scientists tried to find a treatment by means of the application of forensic technologies to the captured zombis. In a remote island this equipment of doctors, led by the bold Spanish microbiologist Blanca Gutiérrez, was confined in extreme conditions to find one radical priest to the epidemic by means of his own investigations and the theories of a recognized expert, the Dr. Stanley Blum.
-
Of there there is born the base of this report in which by the first time the only biology of the organisms is demonstrated zombi. With detailed drawings of the internal organs of these zombis, realized there by the Canadian anatomist James Pittman, Blum's manuscript notebook shows the anatomy of these horrible creatures. The notes of the doctor Blum were revealing undoubtedly surprising indications to know how these creatures work, but … also of his pages it is clear that all the members of the equipment fell down little by little infected by the plague.
