I never recognized God until I recognized Nature

This blog has the potential to offend a lot of people. If you are extremly religous (especially christain or Morman/Latter Day) you might want to exit now.
This is a something i wrote to my sister...but at the end i wanted to share it. It was written completely in stream of consciousness (meaning i wrote it exactly how i thought it) so it is not spell checked and probably confusing in a lot of places.
I didn't mean it to offend anyone so please don't hate mail me but definately feel free to leave your thoughts, ideas, opinions. I am really interested to know what everyone thinks as i'm still trying to figure out what exaactly it is I even think.
Its long...but enjoy.
************************************************************
...and now i can't sleep for thinking so here we go with the one thats usually foremost in my thoughts.
SPIRITUALITY
I think I explained before my thoughts on god, religion and spirituality. I definately believe in SOMETHING...its just i don't exactly know what it is. does that make sense??
lately it occured to me that God is in nature...or is nature...rather...Mother Nature and God are one in the same.
because I was thinking "do I believe in God?" I asked myself this and my honest answer was...I don't believe in the "heavenly father" vision the bible gives of God. I don't believe in a man sitting in the clouds watching and judging.
then I thought, well then what do i believe? I ran it down in my head...I believe in Karma...I believe in natural law...i believe that a force of some sort regulates the universe...i believe in cycles of life.
I believe it all to be the work of the lady we call "Mother Nature". I know that probably sounds INSANE to you. but for whatever reason it makes the most sense to me.
I finally understand what was troubling me soooo much about Jesus and the bible. Too much human involvement.
It was always hard for me to believe because I am human and I know my own kind. We are extremely arrogant, self-serving, narssictic, greedy and envious.
Do you understand what I mean? What i'm saying?
take for example. Mormans. WTF IS THAT? "latter day saints" - are the people and scenarios added in to the bible at a later date... why? so that someone could profess himself to be a messiah and re-create the "holy commandment" as he saw fit. to serve his own selfish purposes.
i don't think i'm explaining this very well. it makes more sense in my own head...
anyway. So i got to thinking about my nature and god idea...i researched it...
i found a christian lady's website where she was talking about how the praise "mother nature" gets bothers her. she went on about no gods before the ONE true god thing...but the interesting part...was a comment someone left.
"It was actually man who condemned himself to hell by sinning in the first place. That was what was handed down to all of us. We did the condeming not God. What God did was make a way of escape from hell. In other words, when a person is born they are already on the road to an eternity in hell. If they do not choose to turn to Jesus Christ and make Him Lord of their life, they will continue down that same road. However, if they do choose to turn from their sin and turn to Christ, they will be saved from hell and be in Heaven for eternity. It's really that simple.
Too many people have looked to their own selves for salvation. Their pride gets in the way and they believe all kinds of things, that are not true. Some think they are more intelligent and know more than God and the Bible.
Here is what God says about people like that:
Romans 1:18-25 NASB
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen."
obviously this comment was on the side of the bible and GOD in the biblical sense...but the text made me think something else.
"19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."
this part strikes me...because it does have a ring of truth...in all my time denying God, inside I did feel something. All the while denying I couldn't fully ignore. I knew it was there. does that make sense? are you still reading this? lol. It was just super confusing to me. and still is. I want to have a relationship with GOD but i don't want it to be tainted by man or under some ridiculous terms that are man-made. so we are all spiritual whether we decide to recognize it or not in whatever way we do recognize it.
I never recognized God until I recognized nature.
"22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures."
this to me sounds like the crazy christains...people who are so holy that they're not. have you ever met a person who claims christianity but they are the most selfish, arrogant, prideful, spiteful, violent person you know?
they are so confident in their God and their ideas and their FAITH that they feel they can judge, they feel they are better..."holier than thou". They claim to love God but through their own admission they love CHRIST first and above all. CHRIST who was as human as you and I. "an image in the form of corruptable man".
"25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen."
talk about worshipping the creature...the creator is GOD that much we agree...but why cannot God be as simple as the universe? if you think about it the universe is so simple. It goes through the same cycles. it completely runs and regulates itself. birth and blossoming. death and destruction. round and round. Its all so simple and would be with or without us. if anything we do what we always do which is interfere too much because we think ourselves so important. we kill the earth because its convieent to us. we're self-serving. we worship ourselves.
what happens when a forest fire starts? we try to put it out before it reaches our houses but what if we didn't? nature would take its course, because thats what it always does. its supposed to right?
I dunno...long story short.
God is in nature. That is all I can understand at this point from my current mental standing. And i feel relieved. the question of God bothered me forever. It still does to a point but I feel like i'm a lot closer to understand what is meant for me to understand.
um...anyway. Thoughts?
